Del Webb Community in Fishers Caters to Retirees, Seniors

Hoosiers age 55 and older have a new address in Fishers.
Designed as an active adult community‚ Britton Falls‚ being built by Del Webb‚ a division of Pulte Homes‚ offers nine different one-story models costing from $160‚000 to $300‚000. Construction started in November 2006‚ and the first homes were completed in April 2007.
“We’re a resort-style living community‚ so lifestyle is the focus of our neighborhoods‚” says Nichole Freije‚ lifestyle director for Britton Falls‚ Del Webb’s first such project in Indiana. “It’s much more than ranch living in Fishers. People choose to move to a Del Webb community because of the active lifestyle.”
The Chateau‚ a 22‚000-square-foot community and recreation center‚ opened in 2007. It includes an indoor pool‚ fitness center‚ billiards‚ arts and crafts‚ and space for meetings and social events. Outdoor amenities include a swimming pool‚ tennis‚ bocce ball and walking paths. The 335-acre site has 100 acres of open space and 15 surrounding lakes.
“Some residents of Del Webb active adult communities are still working; some have retired – but want an active lifestyle‚” Freije says. “So many baby boomers want this next step in living‚ this community-style‚ resort-style living‚ but they’re not ready to pack up and leave the communities they’ve built their home base in.”
Living near children and grandchildren is also important to them‚ Freije says.
The 1‚054 homes in Britton Falls range from 1‚200 square feet to more than 2‚600 square feet.
